New Year, New Resolutions

Wow! It is hard to believe that 2015 is already over. As I reflect back on the year, I am very thankful for many things: our great team, our loyal customers, and the opportunity to be part of such a great company. As we step into the New Year, one can't help but to think of resolutions for 2016. As for me, I am always looking to be a better person than I was the day before. But along with personal resolutions that you have, there are also some plumbing resolutions that you should add to the list as well.

Stop Wasting Water. According to the EPA, leaks account for an average of 10,000 gallons of water wasted in the home every year. That’s enough to fill a backyard swimming pool. EPA studies have also found that 10% of homes have leaks that waste more than 90 gallons per day, almost 33,000 gallons a year.

Check all of your faucets and showerheads for leaks and count on James Rowe Plumbing to get things fixed. One drip per second can waste more than 2,000 gallons per year, enough to flush a toilet 1,300 times! If your faucets and/or showerheads are old, replace them with low-flow models.

Resolve to call us to fix any toilets that run constantly. This could be waste up to 200 gallons of water every day! Replace any ancient toilets with low-flow models using no more than 1.6 gallons per flush.

Inefficient Water Heating. Since water heating can absorb as much as 25% of your home’s energy budget, resolve to stop wasting energy with inefficient water heating equipment. We’ll be glad to calculate whether your water heating equipment is the right size for your household and lifestyle. Look into whether one or more “on-demand” tankless water heaters are a reasonable option for your home.

Low Water Pressure. Stop putting up with lackluster water pressure in your showers. We’ll be glad to investigate the cause and tell you what needs to be done to turn that trickle into a more satisfying stream.

Give the Elderly a Hand. If there are any senior citizens at your residence, have James Rowe Plumbing install grab bars, levered faucets and any other accommodations needed to avoid injury and inconvenience to elderly loved ones.

Join The Club. Stop reacting to plumbing emergencies and take a preventive approach by signing up for James Rowe’s Club Membership!
